Goodguys Comes to HRCC

It's that time of the year again... Good Guys in Joliet, September 17, 18, 19 and 20. We're proud to announce that Good Guys have selected Hot Rod Chassis to be the site of the official kick off party on Thursday afternoon/night of the 17th. A poker run style event will leave from the Registration Booth at the Chicagoland Speedway at 12:00pm and run a course ending at Hot Rod Chassis at around 3pm. A Good Guys provided DJ will spin from 3pm until 6pm when Pearls Mahone & The One Eyed Jacks will take the stage for some live entertainment. The Midwest Street Rod Association will be serving Chicago Style hot dogs from 5pm on. Hot Rod Chassis will provide an open house atmosphere along with shop tours. Come out and join us! HAMB Meet & Greet at 7pm. Hope to see you all there.

Website Gallery Updates

We've been working on overhauling the shop gallery. The change has been long overdue, and now has a great new feature. You can click on the build photo icon to see hundreds of progress and build photos on each project. Keep checking back in the next few weeks as we add a few more cars to the gallery.

Summer Garage Days

Thanks to everyone who came out for the Summer Garage Days swap meet. We had a really good selection of vintage parts... stuff you're not going to find at your typical swap meet, while you're tripping over Fox Body Mustang parts. How about an Edelbrock SBC X3 manifold for $700? When was the last time you saw one of those? Well, besides the one for "The Hot Rod With No Name" and the one for the "Atomic Bombshell" that we are building for customers in the shop right now! So that makes three we have seen in Chicagoland... ever.

Special thanks to ContinentalJohn for bringing some really kick ass BBQ for everyone. It was a huge hit!

Happy Birthday...

Thanks to everyone who came out to the 5 year party! We had a blast! The food was amazing, the bands were great, and we think everyone had a great time, us included. Special thanks to Mrs. Hipple for the outstanding cake. Here's to the next 5 years.

Something looks familiar

Seems that a certain national store is selling hot rod shirts. It also seems like a certain national store is selling hot rod shirts that look amazingly like our logo! I know this happens to SoCal Speed Shop quite often, so does this mean we are in the "big time" now?! Crazy isn't it?

This '55 GMC is getting the full treatment. What's not to love about an Offy equipped big block Chevy!

Where are they now?

We ran into some familar faces up at Back to the 50s. Here's Jesse's Model A sedan that we built into a roller for him to finish. It sure turned out great, and turns heads EVERYWHERE.

We're back from the land of 10,000 lakes and 12,000 hot rods! We had a great time and Back to the 50s is a killer show. So much to look at... so many friendly people. We are really looking forward to next year's show! Special thanks to the crew for busting ass, and also to Mr and Mrs Titus for the accomodations.

Happy Birthday...

Saturday August 1st, is our 5 year anniversary party! Hard to believe it has been 5 years! We have moved 3 times, each time into a bigger and better space. We've met some great people along the way, and for that reason we want to say thank you... and have a party! Expect bands, good food and great friends. Hot rodding is about the people. Hope to see you there!

Back To The Fifties

This coming weekend we will be taking the '37 Coupe "Desire" on the road to Back To The Fifties in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We've heard alot about this show over the years and we're excited to get the chance to be a vender there. Stop by and say hi!

We had a visit from whirlwind hot rodder BobK from the great white north. He needed some rear end work done on his convertible, and we were happy to help. Bob is world famous, and if you don't know who he is... you don't go to enough car shows! On his return trip to pick up the car and go to the Czar Picnic, he and I had a fun time when we went to pick up my wheels and tires for my '55. I thought maybe they would fit in the back and in the rumble seat. Not quite. So it took 2 trips. But not a bad way to spend an hour, running errands in a '36 Ford with a helluva guy. Good times.

Little Deuce Coupe Deaux

We seem to be drawing in several Deuces as of late... just not of the FORD variety. This local '32 Chevy was just built by the owner, and he brought it by for to help him work some bugs out of it.
