Even More Junk

The earlier post wasn't enough... this one will break your heart.

One man's junk...

Everyone loves a good trip to the junkyard, and it is a pretty rare thing today. Imagine 60 years ago, what these junkyards looked like. Oh the humanity! That last one is 1936 in Milwaukee. Hard to believe cars were being so heavily scrapped back then, at least through 2010 eyes. Go ahead, spend the next hour trying to identify all the cars in the piles like we did...

Shop Holiday Party Dec 17, 7pm!

Mark your Calendars! Hot Rod Chassis & Cycle is once again abandoning all discretion in a sincere effort to spread Christmas cheer within the Hot Rod & HAMB community. Please accept our invitation to join us after 7:00 pm on 17th of December for their annual holiday open house.

All of you Friday Night Adult Beverage regulars know the way, so do the SW Chicago HAMB and Eggers but just as a reminder here's where you need to be:

Hot Rod Chassis & Cycle
59 W. Factory Road
Addison, Illinois
630-458-0808

From WEST : Take 355 to North Ave, exit East. When you get to Addison Road (look for the Portillo's on the right), watch for the rail road tracks, then turn left (North). At the first light (Factory Road) turn left (west). We're the 3rd building on the left.

From EAST : Take 290/294 to Rt. 64 Exit (North Ave) and go WEST 3 miles. At Addison Road make a RIGHT and go North to the first signal (Factory Rd). Make a LEFT and it's the 3rd building on the left.

BYOB and a dish to pass. Children are welcome ON THE HAND OF AN ADULT.

Casual or dress up, it's up to you.

Chop it!

A '33 Dodge looks pretty good at stock roof height, but of course that will never do...

2011 Raybestos Brakes Giveaway Car Build Announced...

...and it will be built by HRCC! We're teaming up with some great build partners like GM Performance Parts, Moser Engineering, American Racing, Nitto Tires, and Hilborn (just to name a few) and taking an early '64 GTO (389/4spd bench, radio and heater delete) and working it over as a full fledged Road Racing car. Plans include full unibody construction, racing chassis, and a 700hp LS(X) motor from GM Performance Parts. Keep an eye on the site for build photos, and go to raybestosgarage.com for video updates and information on how you can win this GTO. Look for it to debut on the Power Tour, and watch for coverage in Hot Rod Magazine and Hot Rod TV. Check out the Gallery!

2010 SEMA Show

Kevin and I joined fellow Czar brother Josh/Lucky out at the SEMA show for the giveaway of the Raybestos '32 Ford RPU built by Hollywood Hot Rods and for the announcement of HRCC building the 2011 Raybestos giveaway car, a 1964 Pontiac GTO-R Road Racer. While Josh is a SEMA veteran, it was a whole new world for Kevin and I. We walked for MILES. And we met lots of great people. Ran into lots of people that we knew. It was a great time!

Kevin and the guys from Meg's Exhaust at the Source Interlink/Raybestos after party. Up next is RPU winner Vin. He was beyond excited. Who can blame him?! Then Vin with Josh and Troy Ladd. We had a ball hanging out with Troy and Josh. And finally, I met Alex Xidias and Pete Chapouris, both great heroes of mine. Definitely the highlight of the trip for me! Both were super nice and Pete was complimentary of our work at HRCC. Holy Crap! I was shaking after that.

SEMA

At the Source Interlink/Raybestos after party. Recognized this roadster, and of course Project X, which was the first time I had seen it in person. It was hard to not picture the car in my head as the street machine driven by Tony Danza. Then I saw it... Gray Baskerville's coupe. Speechless...

SEMA

Here is print of Cadillac Bob's Apache on display at the American Racing Booth. The Foose '34/36 coupe, California Kid clone, a nice chevy, and the Raybestos Brakes '32 Ford RPU giveaway truck, which I did all the promo work for at my day job.

SEMA

Here we have Bob Drake's new '40 panels, the ORIGINAL Sandy's Muffler Shop roadster (WOW!), '32 at the Coker trailer, Dan Webb's Submarine, and the Mysterion clone.
